Instructions
Units
Default units are metric (°C, m, m/s, hPa). These may be changed by clicking on the appropriate button on the bottom right of the map.
Choice of map
You may choose the required map via the drop-down menu in the right side-bar. The map of Cyprus is always the default on starting up or refreshing. Other maps available are the East Mediterranean, the Levant, the British Isles and Europe.
Station details
By hovering the cursor over any orange dot on the map, you can see the latest details in the right side-bar. Further details may be obtained by double-clicking on the dot. The name of the station is displayed on the bottom-left of the map.
Timing
Most of the weather stations on these maps are METAR, used for aviation purposes, generally at airports. Most METAR stations have the weather data renewed once per hour (sometimes more or less frequently). The weather conditions shown may therefore be up to an hour old. Note that various stations may upload their data at different times. You can check the latest upload time in the right side-bar, with the station details displayed. Note that an upload during viewing of a map or timing out will show the temperature as '---' and you will have to refresh your browser to continue.
